ABOUT

“Glass is totally seductive, the perfect medium with a chameleonic nature that allows it to mimic a range of other materials and like no other material it has the ability to absorb, reflect and also to transmit light,” says Lyons. “As an object in a cool solid state, you can see the evidence of its past as a liquid that has been frozen in that precise moment of creation, whether blown, cast, sculpted or pressed into its current form. The beauty of glass lies in its rawness.”

Award-winning sculptor and designer ELIZABETH LYONS approaches the design of lighting and decorative objects from a sculptural point of view. She has been commissioned by top interior designers and architects worldwide and published in leading design publications and books including the New York Times, Elle Decoration, Architectural Digest, and Vogue, to name a few. Her sculpture has been exhibited in galleries throughout the United States and she is a recipient of the prestigious Anonymous Was a Woman Foundation Award.

Elizabeth Lyons designs and creates her extraordinary design collection that includes her iconic Big Jars, Flora vessels, lighting and one-of-a-kind decorative and sculptural objects that have been showcased in residential and commercial applications, and fine restaurants and leading hotels.

At More Fire Glass Studio, Elizabeth Lyons and her team take us through the fascinating process of glass blowing one-of-a-kind pieces. We see how cups, jars, vases, and other beautiful shapes go from sand to full blown items that can be used on restaurant tables.
